Established in 1727, a little over 100 years after the Pilgrims had landed in Plymouth. Close to beaches, Cape Cod, and easy access to the islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.

The area was resettled and incorporated as the town of Braintree, named after the English town of Braintree in 1640. Born in Braintree, Massachusetts in 1737 John Hancock remained in Braintree all of his life. Retirement home of the co-inventor of the telephone Thomas Watson.

Named for Kingston upon Hull, England. Settled in 1622. Incorporated in 1644. Early industries included fishing, trade and salvaging shipwrecks.

Quincy is the birthplace of two U.S. presidents—John Adams and his son John Quincy Adams—as well as John Hancock, a President of the Continental Congress and the first signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Today, the town is mostly rural and residential, with very little industry. It is easily one of the least developed towns in the southeastern part of the state. The Winnetuxet River and many other brooks, as well as several smaller ponds, lie within the town.

Rockland was settled by European settlers, as a northeastern region of neighboring Abington in 1673. The town separated and incorporated as Rockland on March 9, 1874. It is named for the town's rocky nature,

Weymouth was settled in 1622 as Wessagusset Colony and Incoproated as Weymouth in 1635. The Town has colloquially been referred to as "Suburban Southie" and "Southie on the South Shore" due to the high influx of South Boston residents and Irish Catholic culture in the town.
